Humber College International Entrance Scholarships

The Humber college offers scholarships in Canada for international students via the Humber International Entrance Scholarships.

The scholarships are for students to pursue undergraduate and masters studies at Humber College in Toronto Canada.

University of British Columbia Scholarships for International Students

University of British Columbia offers scholarships to outstanding students with high academic achievements.

This UBC scholarships apportions $10 million CAD annually to awards, scholarships and other forms of financial assistance for international undergraduate students.

Carleton University Entrance Scholarships for International Students

The Carleton scholarships offers partial scholarships worth $4,000 – $16,000 to exemplary students who meet the admission average criteria of 80% and above.

Vanier Canada Graduate Scholarships

The Vanier Canada Graduate Scholarships (Vanier CGS) was created to attract and retain world-class doctoral students and to establish Canada as a global centre of excellence in research and higher learning. 

The scholarships are towards a doctoral degree (or combined MA/PhD or MD/PhD) at participating Canadian Universities.  The scholarship is worth $50,000 per year for three years.

Scholarship criteria

To be considered for a Vanier CGS, you must:

• be nominated by only one Canadian institution, which must have received a Vanier CGS quota;

• be pursuing your first doctoral degree (including joint undergraduate/graduate research program such as: MD/PhD, DVM/PhD, JD/PhD – if it has a demonstrated and significant research component). Note that only the PhD portion of a combined degree is eligible for funding;

• intend to pursue, in the summer semester or the academic year following the announcement of results, full-time doctoral (or a joint graduate program such as: MD/PhD, DVM/PhD, JD/PhD) studies and research at the nominating institution; Note that only the PhD portion of a combined degree is eligible for funding;

• not have completed more than 20 months of doctoral studies as of May 1, 2020

• have achieved a first-class average, as determined by your institution, in each of the last two years of full-time study or equivalent. Candidates are encouraged to contact the institution for its definition of a first-class average; and

• must not hold, or have held, a doctoral-level scholarship or fellowship from CIHR, NSERC or SSHRC to undertake or complete a doctoral degree.

University of Manitoba Graduate Fellowships

The university of Manitoba via the Faculty of Graduate Studies offers more than $2 million dollars in University Graduate Fellowships (UMGF) each year to full time graduate students (Master’s and Ph.D.) to recognize academic excellence.

This is offered to students who have demonstrated superior intellectual ability and academic accomplishment.

This is one of the prestigious scholarships in Canada for international students and i wouldn’t want anyone to miss it.

The University of Manitoba Graduate Fellowships (UMGF) are merit-based awards offered to international students at the University of Manitoba.  

The fellowships are valued at $18,000 for PhD students, or $14,000 for Master’s students for a 12-month period.

Pierre Elliot Trudeau Foundation Doctoral Scholarships

The Pierre Elliott Trudeau awards is o prestigious scholarship in Canada.

The Pierre Elliott Trudeau Foundation Scholarship Program will help shape researchers into engaged leaders who are conscious of the impact of their research, connected to the realities of the communities in which they work, and open to non-conventional forms of knowledge.

The Foundation is seeking candidates who are audacious, original, and forward-thinking.

The program will last for three years and will also provide generous support for Scholars’ doctoral work in the form of a stipend and a research and travel allowance.

The scholarships are open to foreign nationals (with a preference for candidates from the developing world) who are applying to a doctoral program in the social sciences and humanities or registered full-time in the first or second year of such a program at a Canadian university.

The International Master’s Award of Excellence (IMAE) will be awarded to eligible international master’s students normally entering a research-based graduate program at the University of Waterloo.

international masters award of excellence (IMAE)

• International students with a valid Canadian study permit who are registered full time and assessed international tuition fees. 
• Normally given to students in research-based programs (thesis or major research paper). 
• Will normally only be given to students entering the first term of their program (term 1.0).
• Students must demonstrate academic excellence through criteria established by the Faculty.
• Students must meet the academic progress requirements of their program and not have outstanding probationary admission requirements. 
• This award could be in addition to other internal or external scholarships (e.g., UW Graduate Scholarship, OGS,  etc). Note: scholarships are different than sponsorships – see next bullet.
• Normally, students should not be concurrently receiving foreign government or agency sponsorship (e.g., China Scholarship Council, Libyan sponsorship, etc) or be fully or partially self-funded in excess of the Faculty minimum levels of support.  
• Students grandparented under the existing IMSA program cannot be nominated for an IMAE; however, a student previously awarded an IMSA for a previously completed master’s degree can be nominated for an IMAE.
• Students will be automatically considered for this award based on their application for admission. Departments and/or Faculty will define their own internal process by which they select recipients based on the eligibility criteria and allocation.
• Faculties may impose stricter eligibility criteria as appropriate.
